An Amazing Women of God Sharing Her Faith

I want to tell you a story about an amazing woman named Milusca who lives in one of the barrios where we are working. She is a believer in Jesus our Lord and Savior and is living and obeying Christ’s commandment as it is stated in Mathew 22:37-39; Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Milusca lives with her husband, Johnny and their two children Elicia (13 years old) and Jose (12 years old). Milusca met one of our directors, Andres and Yulianna. She accepted Jesus and was just baptized. The night before her baptism, she came down with a very high fever and she was very sick. She told me that all of a sudden about 3 hours before she had to leave to get baptized her fever went away and all the pain went away from her body. Because of her testimony, her husband and their children also accepted Jesus and were baptized. But Milusca didn’t stop there. She started a house church and wanted to witness to all her neighbors, she believes Jesus when he said “Go and make disciples.” The other day, Jose asked what they were going to eat for lunch. She replied that they were having rice and eggs since they didn’t have anything else. So when we came with the group from Chandler Christian Church to do an activity to outreach to this barrio, Kellie brought left over chicken that we didn’t eat for lunch and gave it to Milusca. Milusca looked at her son and said, “See how God provides.” Because of Milusca’s testimony, she has witnessed to her neighbors and they are becoming followers of Christ. One of Milusca’s neighbors Martha and her family are now saved! Andres and Yulianna tried to talk with Martha but they didn’t have success until Milusca helped opened the door for them to share the gospel and now Martha and her family are being disciples. Martha is a single mother of 4 boys; her 13 year old son is named Lucho. Lucho was born handicapped. He can’t walk and the doctors said that he would never be able to talk. Well, Lucho understands, can answer questions, and even tells his mom when he is hunger, tired or needs to go the bathroom. This is amazing to his mother! Martha had to leave him during the day because she cooks food and then sells it in the market. He’s home alone and he doesn’t have a wheel chair. Sometimes he falls out of bed. His mother is very loving and takes good care of him and is doing the best she can with what she has. They live in a straw and plastic house. One day Milusca asked Lucho why he was so happy. He responded by saying that he had accepted Jesus into his heart! Lucho had been listening to his mother being discipled. I (Danell) had a chance to visit and pray with Milusca and Martha and I was moved by their story. I was talking with Milusca and I wanted to encourage her and tell her that because of her love for Jesus she is witnessing miracles in her life and the lives of her neighbors! If you ask people if they have witnessed a miracle, a lot of them would say no because people are thinking miracles of healing by having people walk again or healing of a disease. I’m not saying that these are miracles that cannot happen! But for me a greater miracle is bringing people to Christ so they can have eternity in heaven! So when you have a chance to share your faith and the hope that Jesus has for others, think how important it is that you can be an instrument that Christ can use to literally save people from going to HELL!
