A Success Story?

Could this be the beginning of a real mission’s success story? The jury may still be out but take a look at the success PNHI is having in Trujillo and you be the judge!

This is why I think we are seeing a Mission Success Story in Peru. It is early on. It is fragile but we work to change that with time and a good plan.
In 4 1/2 years (with 2 lost years) we are seeing something amazing. It is the most amazing story I know of in my limited experience in Latin missions. I'm not out to compare it to all others, but just think about this! This is Mike's FIRST year working with 'his own team'; that is the team he has rebuilt, then recruited some, trained them all, and worked with them individually, etc.

We have a different strategy in Peru than most of our churches have up here in the US. We know that. But that doesn't minimize the impact of what is going on in Peru. We are in the EARLY stages of this whole thing. We are 'GOING' out, building relationships with people, winning them to Christ and incorporating them into the Body of Christ. We aren't building a building to try to get them all to come to ONE place for a service. It is much harder. I've done both.

We know that we will get the best picture of how we are doing when we can compare a month from this year to a like month next year, but please indulge me. I think you will agree the numbers that you see below, comparing attendance in January to October in 2010 is truly amazing. Look at this.

JAN
OCT

# HOUSE CHURCHES (Adults) 17 66
# ATTENDING (these are adults) HC 248 512
CHILDREN IN STORY TELLING 245 835

Each of the above are all one month records.

YOUTH IN STORY TELLING 84 257

Our average attendance for the month August through October was 264, pretty amazing!

# OF PEOPLE WE HAVE WEEKLY
CONTACT WITH THROUGH ONE OF
OUR ROCKS/MINISTRIES 720 3594

The October number in this category is also a record for one month.

Total
Peace Treaties done this year 459
Baptisms for the year so far 199

So, you be the judge! Is this becoming a GREAT mission’s story? I think it is!

I ask that you pray daily for the work that is going on there. I ask that you pray for our team and the people that they are reaching!

God bless you all!
Love in Him,
John Hendee
